Gold Sounds Festival 2018 feat The Big Moon, v Brudenell Social Club
GOLD SOUNDS FESTIVAL RETURNS - MAY 2018, bringing you the best selection of alternative rock, grunge, shoegaze, post punk & indie to Brudenell Social Club, as the event enters it’s fourth year. New for 2018, the festival will return in a new multi-day format with 2 full days programmed across 2 rooms, featuring over 25 acts.
Saturday 19th May sees Mercury Prize nominated The Big Moon return to Leeds following the release of their critically acclaimed album, ‘Love In The 4th Dimension’ to headline the opening day. They will be joined by dream-pop sweetheart, Phoebe Bridgers, who showcases cuts from well received debut, ‘Stranger In The Alps’. Brighton four piece, YONAKA bring their gripping live show to Gold Sounds 2018, fresh from the back of numerous ‘Big in 2018’ tip-lists. London’s Mellow Gang and their self-proclaimed ‘Night-time psyche pop’ roll into Leeds for the very first time alongside Leeds’ frantic post-punkers Dead Naked Hippies.
Headlining Gold Sounds on Sunday 20th May is Vancouver’s, Turnover. Having arguably released two of the dreamiest indie / shoegaze records in the last 3 years, they return to the Brudenell Social Club to top the bill. Joining them are cult label Sub Pop’s Bully , fresh from releasing their second album ‘Losing’. Ahead of the release of her debut album, Polyvinyl’s Anna Burch brings her fuzzed up lo-fi to Gold Sounds.. Aussie four piece, City Calm Down, bring their blend of new wave post-punk to Leeds for the first time and also joining the bill are Talkboy, a new 6-piece band to Leeds, who even in their infancy, have been included on new tip-lists for 2018 without releasing any music.
