They say that good ideas start over a beer and Scott Sullivan and Justin Heckathorn are a testament to that. They founded Greenbush in Scott’s hometown of Sawyer by converting an old laundrette next to a railroad line into a taproom and brewpub – with the intention of making beer with avour and intensity, and scaling up as they went.
Scott and Justin have a twin focus – big hitting classic American styles and Belgian beers. So you get the best of two very different worlds in the same place, brewed on their 15BBL kit a short distance from the windy eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan. It looks like the kind of place you would only find by accident – which is a good thing, of course.
