På sitt fjerde og selvtitulerte album som The Weather Station har Tamara Lindeman endret kurs. Toronto-artisten har alltid hatt øre for en melodi, men med grepene hun nå har tatt, bør hun omsider klarer å unnslippe Joni Mitchell-sammenligningene.
Hun har rett og slett gått elektrisk, men uten å miste fokus på de ekstremt rikholdige, visuelle tekstene. Dette er perfekt øretelefonmusikk, djevelen er i detaljene.
«I wanted to make a rock and roll record,» forklarer Lindeman, «but one that sounded how I wanted it to sound, which of course is nothing like rock and roll.»
Det er mye fint man kan si om dette albumet, men det mest slående er at man nå føler at man virkelig blir kjent med Tamara Lindeman, med The Weather Station.
