Australiens alternative søskende popduo er tilbage med deres fjerde studiealbum ”SNOW”.
Siden Angus & Julia Stone begyndte at optræde sammen i 2006, har deres historie udfoldet sig med en næsten magisk magnetisme, der har sikret dem fans verden over. Deres fire album har opnået platinstatus og vundet dem adskillige ARIA og APRA Awards i hjemlandet Australien. Hver måned har de over fem
millioner lyttere, som tuner ind fra hele verden og streamer deres musik.
Deres roligt hypnotiserende sange har infiltreret film og tv fra den seneste Woody Harrelson film 'The Edge of 17' til tv-shows som 'Pretty Little Liars', 'Suits' & 'Revenge'. De har spredt deres magi på nogle af verdens mest tonangivende festivaler: Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Rockwerchter, Hurricane, Austin City Limits, Electric Picnic og The Great Escape.
Tæt på opløsning
Det er ingen hemmelighed, at den eskalerende efterspørgsel næsten splittede duoen i parallelle solokarrierer i 2012, før Rick Rubin insisterede på, at de blev genforenet på deres selvbetitlede album fra 2014. Det førte naturligt til flere koncerter verden over, og en ny retning og samhørighed, der blev til de tidlige sessions i indspildningsforløbet for det nye album ’Snow’.
"Something changed in us. A philosophy & a feeling... comes from just knowing the road better. Like when you’re playing, and you find that pocket in the music. The reason you can stay in it, is when you accept you are just there, in it. So, you learn to align that concept with how you move in the world,“ siger Angus Stone.
Det nye album, som udkom i september 2017, indeholder 12 pragtfulde sange skrevet af Angus & Julia i fællesskab.
Det er næste kapitel i en uhyre vellykket karriere, der tæller mere end en halv million albumsalg i Australien alene.
Det Sydney-fødte søskendepar producerede stort set selv ’Snow’ i Angus' sommerhus-studio, Belafonté, i Byron Bay-oplandet.
"It was quite magical because Angus and I have never spent that much time together, just the two of us," siger Julia. "There's always at least an engineer or tour manager but the last phase of writing and recording was just eight weeks of him and me and the quiet of the land. It was a beautiful time. We have very different styles of writing but they seem to work together. In a way, it’s the differences that make it sound the way it does.”
