Lock Smith is a West Coast artist/producer who first gained notoriety in the underground hip hop scene through MTV's MC Freestyle Championship. Lock, along with his group The Frontline received commercial radio play and began building a regional buzz. But it wasn't until he began his solo career in 2011, he started to cultivate a loyal fan base. Locksmith has toured with Joe Budden, hip hop purists Murs, R.A. the Rugged Man, Jedi Mindtricks and collaborated with legendary producers 9th Wonder (Stand It) and Ski Beatz(Lock). Lock has been featured on MTV, BET, Sirius XM's Shade 45, Hot 97's "Who's Next?" concert series and all major hip hop blogs. His first official album A Thousand Cuts was released April 15th, 2014.

With no pretend marketing scheme or gimmick, J. Lately distinguishes himself with his classic boom bap style and laid back flow. A true appreciation for music, along with the unique ability to put everyday life into a relatable perspective has allowed him to flourish in the local Bay Area scene.
His latest full-length album, "Daydreams & Warm Nights", received attention from blogs such as 2dopeboyz.com, djbooth.net, kevinnottingham.com, and ashleyoutrageous.com, as well as many other internet outlets. Including features from Zumbi (of Zion I) and Von Pea (of Tanya Morgan), and with production from DJ Dahi, Jansport J, and Jonathan Lowell providing the backdrop, the album serves as Lately's strongest piece of work to date. With a patient yet persistent attitude he continues work on a variety of future projects, including collaborative albums with Sacramento emcee J.Good and North Bay emcee Trey C.
