Die Vorrunde der Handball WM 2019 mit deutscher Beteiligung findet in der Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin statt. Am 10. Januar 2019 können Fans das Eröffnungsspiel mit der deutschen Nationalmannschaft live in Berlin erleben. Die Männer-WM 2019 wird in Kooperation des Dansk Håndbold Forbund und dem Deutschen Handballbund gemeinsam ausgerichtet.

Die deutsche Handball-Nationalmannschaft wird ihre Vorrunde in Berlin bestreiten und im Falle der sportlichen Qualifikation nach Köln umziehen. Die Vorrunde ohne deutsche Beteiligung findet in München statt. Für die Halbfinals ist Hamburg die vorgesehene Bühne. Schauplätze der WM in Dänemark sind Kopenhagen und Herning. In Herning werden am 27. Januar die Medaillenspiele stattfinden.

The preliminary round of the Handball World Cup 2019 with German participation will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin. On 10 January 2019, fans will be able to experience the opening match starring the German national team live in Berlin.

The Men’s World Cup 2019 will be organized jointly by the Dansk Håndbold Forbund (DHF) and the Deutscher Handball Bund (DHB). The German national team will play their preliminary round in Berlin and will move to Cologne in case of a successful qualification for the next round. The preliminary round without German participation will take place in Munich, while Hamburg will set the stage for the semi-finals. The Danish co-host has selected Copenhagen and Herning as their venues to showcase the World Cup in Denmark.

The World Cup 2019 will be played in a different tournament format than usual. The changes include four preliminary round groups with six teams each. Twelve teams will advance to the finals round. These will be split into two groups of six teams each. The four best teams will then advance to the semi-finals. Dr. Hassan Moustafa adds, "The clear structure of the competition and the possibility to simplify the entire structure of the event is going to assure a smooth procedure at the venues. Not only the teams will benefit from this format, but also the media, the fans and the local organizers."
