Since their inception in 2008, the singular, Berlin-based three piece Esben and the Witch have methodically strode their own path; a route which has enabled them to be inventively collaborative, stealthily prolific and fiercely independent. It is a path that has taken them via Matador Records, recording with Steve Albini, inking a deal with European metal label Season Of Mist, and playing headline shows around the world. Their most recent output is a live album of their primal and expansive goth-punk set at Roadburn Festival 2017, released on their own Nostromo Records imprint, with studio album #5 rumoured for release in autumn 2018 via Season Of Mist.
